The spa is usually under the direction of a board certified physician who combines traditional surgical and non-surgical alternative medical care. In any surgical process, healing is the key to successful results. A medical spa offers pre and post-operative services which are essential in achieving enhanced surgical results.

In a medical spa, patients and spa clients can enjoy traditional spa services, such as massages, body treatments, aesthetic facials, along with others not usually available at a day spa, including BOTOX and RESTYLANE injections, medical microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser treatments and surgical cosmetic procedures.

A medical spa should maintain the look of a medical office while creating the ambience of a spa. The physicians should be board certified in their specialty and the staff licensed and trained to administer clinical skin care and body treatments.
