Dr. Arzadon offers massage therapy at The Spa Clinic, which serves the residents of Washington, DC, Arlington, Alexandria, and surrounding areas of Virginia.
Proper massage therapy requires training and experience in the manipulation of the soft tissues and muscles of the body. The general goals of massage therapy are to release muscle tension, minimize pain signals to the brain and release beneficial chemicals, such as endorphins. Massage therapy may also help with mobility issues.
With a history that stems from ancient cultures, massage therapy is a growing alternative treatment for many medical conditions, such as pain management, rehabilitation, stress, anxiety and depression. Massage therapy is an excellent way to complement your traditional medical treatments or to simply give yourself a day of relaxation and pampering.
If you are interested in massage therapy as a complementary treatment to your medical care, you should consult with your physician to ensure that you are a good candidate for massage therapy. As a method of relaxation, though, massage therapy is generally a safe and effective treatment, but you should advise your therapist of any medical and chronic pain conditions prior to your treatments.
The Spa Clinic offers four types of massage therapy. You hold much of your stress in your back, shoulders and neck, and a 30-minute Swedish massage that targets these areas works to release the tension and relieve muscle aches. Longer Swedish massage treatments are also available, and these 60 or 90-minute treatments help improve your circulation and mobility. Tension can build deep in your muscles, making it difficult to correct with some treatments. Deep tissue massages are designed to work in the underlying muscle tissue, and these treatments typically last 60 to 90 minutes. The last treatment, our pre-natal massage, treats mothers-to-be with a relaxing massage that addresses the discomfort and swelling related to pregnancy, with extra attention given to pampering.
The Spa Clinic works with CareCredit® to provide financing options for patients. Within a few hours, you can be pre-approved for your cosmetic procedure.
