ABOUT THE MINI LIFT

The mini lift, or S-lift, is a more targeted surgical procedure compared to a full facelift. Mini lifts are used to correct one or a couple of minor problem areas, rather than the entire facial area. The mini lift procedure can be performed to target concerns such as early jowl development, neck relaxation, and excess skin around the face.

BENEFITS OF THE MINI LIFT

The mini lift is performed with fewer incisions, which decreases healing time. Patients who undergo a mini lift typically have less swelling and bruising. Many times incisions can be hidden better than those made for a full facelift procedure.

CANDIDATES FOR THE MINI LIFT

Strong candidates for a mini lift surgical procedure usually have the following characteristics:

  • Younger patients who do not need a full facelift
  • Patients who have undergone a facelift but would like additional tightening
  • In good physical health

ABOUT THE MINI LIFT PROCEDURE

A mini lift is performed by making an S-shaped incision around the ear. The skin is lifted, and specific areas are targeted to produce the desired results. Operating time for the mini lift is approximately two hours, and at the end of the procedure, the incision is closed via sutures.

As the mini lift offers less healing time, patients typically need about a day to recover, although some wish to take additional time off. Swelling and bruising subside after a day or two.
